The Wishard Telethon raises funds and awareness for the programs and medical care provided by Wishard Health Services. The event is broadcast across central Indiana and generates a great deal of public awareness about the critical role Wishard plays in caring for our community. Throughout the year-long planning and production stages of the event in addition to the broadcast, the telethon involves numerous Wishard patients, Wishard and IU School of Medicine staff, high-profile community and corporate leaders as well as more than 100 volunteers.
The community has rallied behind Wishard as a place to count on for its tradition of compassionate care. Corporations and organizations making major contributions to the Wishard Telethon 2007 include Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Citizens Gas, Delta Dental, IKON Office Solutions, IU Medical Group, Indianapolis Power & Light Company, Lamar Outdoor Advertising, FTI Healthcare, The Law Offices of Wilson Kehoe & Winingham, RN Specialties, University Plastic Surgery Associates, Argent Healthcare Financial Services, Subway Restaurants, US Foodservice, and Indiana Members Credit Union.
In addition to the telethon itself, the telethon office develops and maintains partnerships with corporations and other organizations for purposes of fundraising and collaboration on programs and events. The telethon office plans and implements fundraising and public awareness events throughout the calendar year.
