One of the many important services offered at Midtown is the Supported Employment Program. Midtown staff members work with clients to improve their marketable skills, thus increasing their ability to gain employment.
The Midtown Clubhouse and Supported Employment Program work closely together. The clubhouse offers transitional work experiences both in-house and in the community that help develop work skills, improve interpersonal skills and assist people in becoming ready for competitive employment.
Midtown Supported Employment and Vocational Services completes a thorough assessment of the client's skills and interests, then assists in finding competitive employment of their choice. Resumes and interview skills are developed, and, job coaching and continued follow-along support are provided to help clients keep employment.
The goal of the employment consultant is to be an advocate for the client and provide support as long as he or she sees the need.
