Volunteer opportunities exist for individuals of all ages. These opportunities were designed with the patient in mind as we hope to provide each patient and visitor with a positive experience while at our facilities. A few of the most needed opportunities include:
- Waiting Room Host/Hostess: Act as a liaison between families, patients and staff; greet newly admitted patients and explain hospital services.
- Department Assistants: Help with light clerical functions, greet patients and visitors, maintain orderliness of unit, run errands and transport patients as needed throughout the facility.
- SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program): Counsel senior citizens on insurance issues. Extensive training is provided.
- Virtual Volunteers: Work from home and assist Volunteer Services with maintenance of position postings on various Web sites and make follow-up phone calls to new and potential volunteers. Personal computer and Internet access required.
