Family Planning Services
Wishard Family Planning specializes in reproductive health and is led by a talented staff of nurse practitioners. Wishard Family Planning offers routine reproductive health care services to well women in the Indianapolis area at little or no cost through federal and state funding. The Wishard Family Planning Program ensures that uninsured, underinsured and low-income women, men and youth are able to access quality, affordable health care. Medicaid and private insurance patients are also welcome.
The Family Planning Program is primarily for women of child bearing age who need birth control to prevent pregnancy. Patients who have had a hysterectomy, tubal ligation or are post menopausal should seek services from their primary care or OB/GYN physician.
Family Planning Services:
- Medical exams: annual exam, pap smear, breast exam
- Distribution of most forms of birth control
- Contraceptive information
- Breast and cervical cancer screenings
- Pregnancy testing and counseling
- Emergency contraception
- Testing, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted infections
- Urinary tract and vaginal infections testing and treatment
