Critical Care Recovery Center (CCRC)
CCRC is a new program at Wishard that will assist with your recovery after being in an intensive care unit. You may have problems physically, emotionally and/or cognitively (thinking/memory). The CCRC can assist you and your family with all of your recovery needs in one place. We will work with your family doctor to manage these needs. If you would like to make an appointment with CCRC, please call 317.630.6074. The center is located within the IU Center for Senior Health at Wishard.
The CCRC team assesses and cares for the patient in all three areas affected by critical illness: physical, psychological and cognitive. Patients must be 18 years or older, and typical treatment with CCRC lasts six to twelve months. The program is designed to supplement, not replace, treatment from patients’ primary care physician. CCRC team members communicate with the patient’s primary care physician to ensure that treatment is in accordance with his/her medical history and that needs continue to be met once treatment with CCRC is complete. The CCRC team consists of a pulmonary/critical care specialist, nurse practitioner, social worker and medical assistant to ensure that all patients’ needs are met.
If you feel your patient would benefit from this program, please call the CCRC team at 317.630.6074 or fax your referral to 317.630.2668.
