Wishard Infectious Disease Clinic (IDC)


Comprehensive, Patient-Focused Care


Goals:
The goal of Wishard IDC is to improve the health and the lives of individuals living with HIV/AIDS through comprehensive, patient focused care. We choose to define success in this program as positively impacting our patients through services, education and research while remaining true to the core values of humility, compassion and respect for others.

Medical Care: Infectious disease requires long-term and consistent monitoring. IDC clinicians bring with them over 75 years of combined infectious disease care experience. Clients are provided phone access to all members of the IDC team to facilitate meetings the current needs and goals of their individual treatment plans.  


Care Coordination:  
Wishard care coordinators are social workers sponsored by the Indiana State Department of Health and Marion County Public Health Department. Wishard social workers partner with persons living with HIV/AIDS and their significant others to prevent interruption in clients’ medical care and facilitate healthy living by linking clients to:

  • Medical care
  • Psychosocial support
  • Financial assistance
  • Full-time Spanish interpreter
  • Free HIV testing
  • Medication adherence and education
