Volunteering has become an exciting way to learn more about career choices and to interact with professionals in a chosen field. Career-related volunteer opportunities are available in clinical and non-clinical departments and are coordinated on an individual basis.
Clinical opportunities are offered to students in high school and undergraduate programs, as well as to working professionals transitioning into a new career who want to gain a realistic perspective of academic requirements and day-to-day functions within a specific environment. Requirements include a consistent schedule of one three-hour shift per week for a minimum of six weeks, pending department availability.
Non-clinical opportunities are offered to high school graduates, undergraduates and graduate students seeking career-related experience or completing an internship. Opportunities are available in a variety of administrative capacities and business settings. Internships are unpaid but may be completed for academic credit. Internship departments vary per semester, but may include:
- Accounts Payable
- Community Relations
- Hispanic Health Project
- Human Resources
- Public Relations and Communication
- Purchasing
- Volunteer Services
