The Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit is located in Wishard Memorial Hospital and is part of Senior Care. The ACE Unit meets the special needs of hospitalized older adults. A team of healthcare professionals, including an IU School of Medicine physician, a pharmacist, nurse, social worker, dietitian and therapist, work together to care for older adults during their hospitalization. Members of the team have extra training in helping older adults care for themselves and stay active. The goal of the ACE Unit is to help older adults recover from their illnesses while maintaining their strength so they can return home to their usual activities.
